Interview with Juliana Ansah

OPINION PIECE BY JULIANA ANSAH

Director of Black Leaders CIC, Juliana Ansah, was invited to an interview with Women in the NHS, an e-magazine which features interviews with inspiring women involved with the NHS. In this article Juliana talks about the importance of creating healthy work environments free from discrimination and the current NHS workforce crisis where 110,000 roles are currently unfilled.
Women are the backbone of the NHS. They represent 75% of its workforce, rising to 90% for nurses. The pandemic has thrown a spotlight on the NHS, and we celebrate people who work in the organisation as heroes. We clap for them. We've hung rainbows in our windows for them. Now it’s time to take a closer look at who they really are, and, in particular, it’s time to look at the role of women in the NHS. The unsung heroes
