Get Motivation

Your mentor’s achievements can inspire you to work harder on attaining your goals. You'll have dedicated time and space to discuss professional and organisational issues and work on the things that are important to you.

New Perspectives

Mentors can be objective and help you see the big picture due to their experiences. When you're stuck in a situation, or have a problem you can't solve, a mentor can help you gain a new perspective or way of completing that task.

Move Faster

Without a mentor, you can get stuck in situations for far too long due to lack of knowledge. Mentors can arm you with important information that can help you to move forward in your career. A mentor's experience can help you solve problems and finish tasks faster.

Better Decisions

By drawing on your mentor's knowledge and experience, you are able to make well-informed decisions which can help you achieve your goals. Being mentored is a challenging and thought-provoking process; a superb opportunity for your personal development.

The answer is yes if...

  • You feel you need personal growth and development in certain areas of your career or education, but you do not know how to move forward.
  • You feel you need someone to help you in navigating your goals, and career challenges in which you would otherwise make wrong decisions if done without guidance.
  • You feel the need to improve in certain skills. This could be management skills, relational skills or even improving your professional personal qualities.
  • You feel ‘stuck’ or that you have been at the same stage for a long time and it is now time to move on but you don’t know how or where to start.
  • You’re looking for someone to model certain values, e.g., work ethic, how to deal with colleagues or demonstrate leadership in action.

There are two options for individuals who want to progress further in their career. With both options we use a robust matching criteria which takes into consideration your role, duties, experience and aspirations.

Our 1:1 Professional Mentoring Programmes offer a dedicated mentor who will work with you over 6 or 12 weeks to map out your career goals and set clear achievable targets at a pace and frequency that suits you! This is a personalised experience.

Everyone is welcome including students who may be undecided on their career paths. We also support people working across industries such as social care, IT, sales and recruitment, to name a few. Although our founding members work in healthcare, our programmes focus on improving the key transferable sills across any industry.

  1. Be ready to expand your capabilities and focus on achieving professional results.
  2. Be willing to ask for help, show vulnerability, and explore different paths and perspectives.
  3. You must be open and receptive to learning and trying new ideas. No mentor wants to advise someone who isn’t open to learning!
  4. Be clear about your career goals, needs, and wants. Mentoring isn’t a form of therapy where one just rambles aimlessly. You are responsible for creating the mentoring agenda, so be clear about what you hope to get from it.
  5. Be personally responsible and accountable for your career, effort and outcomes. Mentors want to see movement and growth. Do what you say you're going to do! Sitting on the sidelines in your own mentoring is not going to work.

Whether you already have an equality and diversity strategy or not, we are here the help.

We offer bespoke Leadership and Mentoring programmes tailored to match the needs of your service. We also support co-production events for both workforce and patient participation groups.
